Frequently Asked Questions

How do I buy a ticket at a ticket machine?

First, check whether the ticket machine is in operation. If it is, the display will be illuminated and will show either the word Tickets or the day, date, and time (the messages alternate).
If the machine is not working, you may call +420 543 174 317 or report the malfunction to any driver.

Next, select the type of ticket from the menu and press the corresponding button. When purchasing a discounted ticket, it is now necessary to first press the Discounted button. The number of tickets can then be selected by pressing the button repeatedly. At any time during the order process, the order can be cancelled and reset by pressing the Cancel button.

The display will show a list of coins accepted for payment (CZK 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50), and the coin slot will open at the same time. Insert coins in the required denominations up to the total purchase price, preferably starting with the lowest and ending with the highest value. After each coin is inserted, the coin slot is temporarily locked and then reopened. The display shows the remaining amount due.
If an incorrect ticket type or quantity has been selected, the order can be cancelled using the Cancel button and the machine will refund the inserted amount.

After the last coin has been inserted, the ticket printing process begins and the display shows the message: Processing your request, please wait. The machine then returns any overpayment and issues the printed tickets.

Where can I find a ticket machine?

Our ticket machines are installed at all interchanges and at all busy public transport stops. All machines are already equipped with a coin return, but please pay attention to the coin list that is displayed on the screen during the purchase process. It is not always possible to use all types of coins. Do not put coins into the machine that are not shown on the display.

What should I do if the ticket machine has not refunded my money or has not issued me a ticket?

If the ticket machine fails to issue tickets, first press the Cancel button. The machine will return the inserted cash. If the Cancel button is not functioning, wait 20 seconds; the machine will return the coins automatically.

If the ticket machine:

  • does not issue a ticket or return the inserted coins,

  • does not return the correct change between the nominal value of the issued ticket and the inserted coins,

  • issues an unprinted or incorrectly printed ticket,

  • issues a ticket in an incorrect format,

you may submit a complaint no later than five working days from the date of the incident. Complaints regarding ticket machines are governed by the Complaints Procedure and may be submitted in the following ways:

  • by completing the complaint form on the website www.dpmb.cz,

  • by email at JAreklamace@dpmb.cz,

  • in person at the surcharge ticket office in Brno, Novobranská 18, 1st floor, on working days from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
